International Tour.
Black Contemporary / Jazz dancers.
(Male and Female age 18 - 40)
Seeking strong trained Contemporary / Jazz dancers that have the ability to pick up a range of styles including Afro-Cuban, Street dance, Salsa and tap.
The dancer need to have strong partnering skills and must show strong personalities and their ability to perform. Acrobatics and tricks are definitely an advantage.
At the audition dancers will be taught choreography but should also prepare a short solo piece which shows off their ability as dancers but also shows their ability to connect to connect to an audience with Passion and Pride.

This 3/4 day course will include indoor and outdoor scores for improvised movement, sound and breath work, walking as a receptive modality, mark-making, free writing and time for sharing. Attention will be given to what it is to be a woman in the landscape, reclaiming our lived relationship with the land and awakening intuitive body-earth wisdom. The course is open to all women.
* Ground your dance practice and re-align body and soul in communication with the land, releasing the idea that we are separate from her and each other
* Drop into the heart of the depth of connection with landscape from which traditional African dance arises, awakening intuitive body-earth wisdom
* Develop your body’s kinaesthetic sense and follow her responses to internal and external landscapes and soundscapes
* Reclaim a lived relationship between body, land and ancestry
Women Land Ancestry is part of the She Who Walks project exploring female ancestry, the female body in relation to landscape and the arising of intuitive body-earth wisdom. The project culminates in site-specific promenade performances at Mel Tor, Dartmoor , 21st & 22nd September 2013. Workshop participants will be invited to take part in the final sequence of the performance at Mel Tor on 22nd September – A Walking Score for many women to close the performance.
Denise Rowe is a dance and movement artist with over 12 years experience facilitating workshops around the world. Co-founder of Tolo Ko Tolo Dance Company and a solo artist working collaboratively across genres, Denise has recently been awarded a Trailblazers Champions bursary in recognition of her work in the field of Dance of the African Diaspora. She has trained in Environmental Movement with Helen Poynor and in women's shamanic traditions with The Sacred Trust.

The Wunatara Drum and Dance All Dayer will include Almamy teaching Guinean ballet, plus a workshop from Abram Diallo in dundun dance and Lamine Cisse in dundun. It will be a fantastic day. The same event in September promises to be even better as it will be followed by an authentic Guinean dundunba where you should see many of the best Guinean and Senegalese artists in the UK in action.

In commemoration of Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago’s Indian Arrival Day Anniversaries, explore the often untold narratives of indenture and mass migration from the Indian subcontinent to the Caribbean, East and South Africa and the Pacific. Visiting Arts Provides tools to the arts, heritage and cultural sectors to work more intelligently and efficiently abroad.
UK funds for the arts are becoming increasingly difficult to access. Visiting Arts can help you consider funds available throughout the EU. From employability and skills to youth projects, step back from the daily search for trusts and foundations and learn about how EU funds could support your projects. Workshops are led by experienced European and international project managers and include group discussion and a chance to develop new ideas for funding applications. In the afternoon session, Yvette Vaughan Jones will help you navigate the mental and structural process of putting together an international project. In a hands-on approach, you will investigate the "why, how and with whom" of international working.

| A fortnight after the premiere of iTMOi, Akram Khan's new choreographic ode to Stravinsky, the Sadler's Wells Associate Artist returns with DESH allowing the opportunity to see the man himself back on stage performing in his most personal and acclaimed work to date. Job description:
· Social dance theme exploring the‘club’ in the theatre.
· Interactive piece set in the round.

The Boat Sessions #02: Joe Driscoll & Sekou Kouyaté  On an overcast and Sunday afternoon, we invited Joe Driscoll and Sekou Kouyaté down to East London’s docks to perform in the second in a series of artists to be filmed as part of the Songlines Boat Sessions. Despite the rain, the boys threw down an acoustic jam of ‘Lady’ from their 2012 album Faya. The Songlines Music Awards 2013 nominated duo can also be heard playing the recorded version of this track on the official compilation CD, available at http://bit.ly/SLMA2013 To find out more about their current tour and to see a selection of photos from the shoot click here. | |||||||||||||||
