Welcome to Dance UK's monthly e-news, auditions & jobs. This service is provided to keep you in touch with Dance UK's latest news, future events and artistic debate from members. It also includes a list of the latest dance auditions and jobs.

This month, Dance UK and its NIDMS Partners celebrate the establishment of the third NHS specialist service for dancers, made possible by the Dance Again Foundation and based at the Royal United Hospital Bath. Dance UK has also been busy preparing its upcoming events that will take place later this Autumn. Launch, the professional development and networking day for dance students and recent graduates will go to Birmingham for the first time and the Agile Fundraising Training Programme will kick off its second session next month after a successful start earlier this year. Teacher Refresh will also return in November visiting Swindon Dance!
This month’s e-news is sponsored by Dance Proms. An international celebration of dance, dancers and dance teachers taking place at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 2 November. To book visit www.royalalberthall.com

Asking for Money, the L’Oreal Syndrome

Part of Dance UK’s Business of Dance training programme, Agile Fundraising is a new programme designed to unmask techniques to attract individual donors and help you become more confident in raising funds. The programme is supported by Arts Council England’s Catalyst scheme and Cause4’s Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy and includes six training sessions over 10 months plus an extra, final session to pitch for up to £1,000 (Dragon’s Den-style) to a panel of wealthy donors.
As we approach the second session, Asking for Money on 6 October, led by Bernard Ross, an internationally recognised management consultant and author and a director of =mc. Fern Potter argues that the arts sector needs to get smarter about making the case and escape what she calls the L’Oreal Syndrome.
